NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC : NEW VISA/PERMIT REGULATION.
With IMMEDIATE effect the following public hours 08:30 to 15:30 have been divided as follows:
Deposit of Visa Applications : 0830 to 12:30
Collection of Passports : 12:30 to 13:30
PLEASE NOTE : ALL APPLICATIONS
MUST BE MADE IN PERSON AT THE EMBASSY. APPLICATIONS WILL NO
LONGER BE ACCEPTED BY MAIL/COURIER/TRAVEL AGENT. APPLICATION FORMS ARE
NO LONGER PUBLISHED ON THE INTERNET AND CAN BE COMPLETED IN PERSON AT
THE EMBASSY. PLEASE ALLOW FOR SUFFICIENT TIME TO
COMPLETE YOUR APPLICATION.
Note to Travel Agents / Companies : An original
booklet form can be collected at the Embassy and you may make your own
copies. However, PLEASE NOTE that no application will be accepted which
does not conform to the booklet specification.
Pages may NOT be completed and stapled on the left hand corner. The
application must be in booklet format.
Passports can be collected by a third party.
PAYMENT : The Embassy will NOT accept
internet transfers. Applicants must visit the nearest Nordea Branch and
deposit the application fee into the Embassy Bank Account and bring the
Bank receipt with them to attach to their application.
APPOINTMENTS :All applicants are kindly
requested to make an appointment to lodge a visa application.
Appointments are available at 15min intervals commencing at 08:30 with
the final appointment at 12:15.
Applicants who apply without an appointment will
be required to allow those who have made applications to do so. Walk
in applicants will be served when there are no appointments on a first
come first serve basis.
Visa processing time is 5 to 10 working days.

note that the after hours telephone number of the Embassy of South Africa in
Helsinki has changed to 0400 605 890.
No telephonic enquiries related to visas and permits will be
answered on this number, your enquiry will not be entertained. Please call the
Embassy on the normal land line during public working hours – Monday to Friday
08:30 to 15:30.
official calls from Finnish autorities, other South African Diplomatic
Missions, DIRCO Head Office and South African citizens in distress will be
in these cases refers to citizens who need to travel to South Africa
immediately due to a death in the family. South Africans arrested may call during
the week during normal working hours.
All Finnish nationals must apply in person at the Embassy.
